Students shall generally be admitted into the First Semester class. An Admission Committee shall be formed as per statute of the university. A candidate for admission into the First Semester class must have passed the Graduation in any discipline or equivalent with minimum total grade point 7 (S.S.C + H.S.C + Degree or equivalent.). The admission test shall be conducted by the PGDLIS co-ordination committee. No student shall ordinarily be admitted after the class starts. A student shall have to attend 70% of classes held in a course. The Head of the Department shall monitor class holding and attendance of students.
The Post Graduate Diploma in Library & information science programs aims at creating professional manpower for librarianship. The training will enable suitable candidates to eventually upgrade the post of library officer.
